Vladimir Savković is a full professor at the University of Montenegro Faculty of Law and vice-dean for international and inter-institutional cooperation. Besides numerous scientific papers and book chapters, he published five law books as sole author, among which are two monographs published in English language by Kluwer Law International, as well as the book: “EU Law of the Internal Market–Private Law Aspects”, which was published in Montenegrin language by University of Montenegro Faculty of Law. The latter book, will be used as the required literature from 2020/2021 academic year for the students attending Master Studies in Business Law, for the course in EU Internal Market Law, which will be taught by prof. Savković.

During 2012 – 2018 period, prof. Vladimir Savković served as a member of the Government of Montenegro Group for Negotiations – main negotiating team of Montenegro in its ongoing accession negotiations with the EU. In this capacity he was in charge of leading negotiations (i.e. aligning Montenegrin legal and institutional framework with that of the EU) in following negotiations chapters: Chapter 3. Right of establishment and freedom to provide services; Chapter 6. Company law; Chapter 7. Intellectual property law; Chapter 20. Enterprise and industrial policy.

He served as a member of governing and a member of editing board for the “SEE | EU Cluster of Excellence in European and International Law” – international scientific project headed by Europa-Insitut Saarland University (other partners SEELS – South East European Law Schools Network and UoM Faculty of Law), which, among else included publishing and editing scientific papers on EU law, organizing summer schools and creating a model curricula for studies in EU law to be proposed to dozen SEE law faculties involved in the project.

He is also serving as a lecturer at Montenegrin Judicial Training Centre, where teaches EU and national company law to both future and current Montenegrin judges.

In November and December 2018, as GIZ international legal expert, he was contracted to prepare work plan and provide training for the Albanian Government working group established for commencing and conducting accession negotiations in Chapters 6 – Company law.

He was as visiting scholar at Europa Institut – Saarland, University Sophia Antipolis – Nice, University of Nebraska – USA, CEU – Budapest (Vienna), etc.

He served or still serves is a member of several working groups in charge of drafting new laws and otherwise aligning Montenegrin with EU’s legal and institutional framework.
